Description: The project involves the architectural design of a Housing Complex with two Private Villas. A pergola connects the two, providing both privacy and visual connection. The "void" between the solids allows the scheme to "breathe," while also protecting the privacy of long-term residents and/or visitors. The property is an olive grove in Apolpaina, Lefkada. The olive trees are a prominent feature of the natural landscape, and the built form interacts with them, resulting in the two coexisting harmoniously. The olive trees next to the swimming pools create a "sense of place," providing users with a unique experience. At the same time, the chosen color palette complements the olive trees and the surrounding natural environment.

Materials: The use of stone cladding on the ground floor's exterior walls is intended to visually connect the two separate Villas.  The use of local stone for cladding also demonstrates an authentic relationship between man-made and natural environment. This relationship is also aided by the use of natural wood.  Iroko and wattle were chosen for the pergolas and decorative elements on the residence's exterior. Plaster is used on the exterior of the remaining floors of both Villas. Plastering accomplishes a delicate yet memorable finish.
